There were no failures throughout the year due to breakdown of transmitters. A total 14 minutes for both the English and Chinese Radio Services was lost due to Hong Kong electricity power failures, these were very short breaks and within a minute at each time the emergency generator took over the power load. Failures in transmitters and associated equipment were of a minor nature and the principal components expended were valves.
