65. Reception Conditions

(i) BBC 0900-1500G Generally similar conditions prevailed this year as last and reception has been good, with 25710, 21550, 21470 and 15070 kHz being the main frequencies. The Singapore relay has been preferred between 1200-1300G June to September 1971.

(ii) BBC 2200-0030G Because of the fact that the signal strength of the two best frequencies, 9410 kHz (English) and 6150 kHz (Chinese) has been marginal throughout the year, Singapore relay had to be used for most schedules,

(iii) V.O.A. 0130-0200G The problem of occasional interruption and relatively poor quality on Manila relay has resulted in VOA direct reception whenever possible, although Manila relay is always stronger than the VOA direct reception.
