more important programme projects include documentaries on resettle- ment, industrial safety, pollution, water schemes, the cross-harbour tunnel and drug addiction. Many thousands of feet of film have been shot which will ultimately form part of television transmissions. Plans have also been prepared and recruitment will be directed accordingly-for the inauguration of a weekly magazine programme (on both Chinese and English Channels); for a monthly documentary treating in depth major subjects of public concern; for regular service programmes to help with the work of certain Government departments (for example, Police, Fire Services and Social Welfare); and eventually, for a regular Chinese domestic series-drama, designed, inter alia, to carry a measure of broadly based civic education.
