Late Call
21. Late call is a telephone show normally broadcast in the English service on two evenings a week from 10.15 p.m. to 11.15 p.m. It offers the opportunity for any listener to telephone in and ask for informa- tion or offer comments on any subject. In addition to a staff chairman of the programme, an expert is normally invited to explain the policies of various government departments, community organizations and so on. It provides the public with a useful opportunity not only to settle minor personal problems but also to discuss larger issues concerning the population of Hong Kong as a whole. During the year a number of Government officials, Executive and Urban councillors, educationalists, priests and commercial managers gave their time to take part in this stimulating series.
Enquiry
22. Enquiry is a documentary programme in which teams of re- searchers examine public issues of the moment and the programme has achieved considerable success with listeners. Subjects covered in 'Enquiry' have included 'The Use of Computers in Hong Kong's Developing Circumstances', 'Tipping', 'The Film Industry of Hong Kong', and 'Mixed Marriages', 'Enquiry' is broadcast fortnightly.
Out and About
23. This programme brings to the microphone people in all walks of life in different institutions, organizations and communities. Through a series of interviews people talk about their lives and the interviews are bridged by music chosen by those taking part. 'Out and About' visited about fifty groups through the year including the Post Office, the Portuguese community, the Duke of Wellington Regiment and the Social Welfare Department.
Time to Remember
24. This programme is devoted to bringing to the listening public the reminiscences of distinguished residents and visitors. All brought fascinating descriptions of their life and work either in Hong Kong or elsewhere. On the local scene such eminent personalities as Mr. Lawrence KADOORIE, Mr. Paul Tsui and Mr. Alec POTTS took part whilst overseas visitors included Mr. Malcolm MACDONALD, Mr. Denis BLOODWORTH and Sir Norman COLLINS.
