84. Mr. Victor PRICE, Producer, Class I, completed his tour of secondment from the B.B.C. and returned to England in January 1963. Mr. David WHITE was appointed Producer Class I in January 1963. There were considerable changes in the five English Service announcer posts, totalling a turnover of 120%. Mrs. S. M. WILSON, Mrs. E. J. SKELT, Mrs. S. M. FRY, Mrs. J. A. C. STAMMERS and Mrs. S. M. DRUST resigned and Mr. M. G. MEREDITH also left the Department. Appointed as replacements were Miss Angela ERNEST, Mrs. C. DUNKERLY, Mrs. P. TIDBURY, Mr. R. PIXTON and Mr. J. Dearlove,

85. On the 31st March, 1963 the staff numbered eighty, thirty six being members of the programme sections and the remainder being engaged in executive, clerical and miscellaneous duties. Technical staff, from Cable and Wireless Ltd., employed on broadcasting operations totalled thirty nine. There are also about 800 regular contributors to the English and Chinese Programme Services.

86. Once again I should like to express my appreciation of the hard work and diligence of all members of my staff. As the scope of broad- casting keeps pace with the development of Hong Kong, the respon- sibilities of all staff increase. In all spheres, but in particular in those of education and information, the years ahead will produce new challenges.
