to their offices to keep in touch with the fortunes of such stars as Sonny RAHMADIN of the West Indies, Richie BENAUD of Australia, Roy MCLEAN of South Africa, and Tom GRAVENEY of England. Perhaps the highlight of the all too brief visit was during the game against the Island XI when the bowling of Neil ADCOCK provided the back-ground for some very exciting broadcasting. The visitors won the match with the last ball of the last over.

98. Other sporting high-lights of the year were broadcasts of the Cross Harbour Race, the Macau Grand Prix, the Hong Kong Open Golf Championship, the Walkathon, the F.A.R.E.L.F. Boxing Cham- pionships, and the Hong Kong Derby.

Religion

99. Religious programmes are either prepared and broadcast from the studios or relayed from the cathedrals and churches of the Colony. During the year there were twice weekly midday services, the weekly Matins on Sunday morning, and the Sunday evening Epilogues. The Christian festivals of Easter and Christmas were marked with several outside broadcasts, features and programmes of religious music and there was a special series of talks for Lent.

100. The tragic death of the United Nations Secretary General, Mr. Dag HAMMARSKJÖLD, was marked in Hong Kong by a public memorial service held in the centre of the city. The service, which was relayed by Radio Hong Kong, included appreciations by many community leaders.

101. During the year an inter-denominational committee was estab- lished to advise Radio Hong Kong on the production of religious broadcasts.

Features and Drama

102. Outstanding broadcasts in this field were 'The Streets of Pompeii' and the radio ballad "Singing the Fishing', both B.B.C. productions and Radio Italiana prize winners. Also noteworthy were 'Death of a Salesman', 'Dr. Zhivago', 'King Lear' and 'A Tune on the Old Tax Fiddle'.

103. Local production included 'Chasing the Dragon', a thriller serial on drug addiction; 'Anybody Here Seen Christ?', an inquiry into the commercialization of Christmas; and 'The Unhappy Chapter', a liberation day programme.
