127. Of unusual interest was the use by the Columbia Broadcasting System of the concert hall for the filming of the Hong Kong terminal of the international television feature 'Small World'.
128. In this programme, three or four famous personalities in different parts of the world are linked by radiotelephone for a discussion of contraversial issues, each speaker being filmed during the discussion and the separate films subsequently being edited into a half hour television programme.
129. In Radio Hong Kong's studios, U Nu, Prime Minister of Burma, and HAN Suyin, the novelist, both took part in two 'Small World' programmes.

STUDIOS AND EQUIPMENT
133. The concert hall was completely re-equipped during the year with a new six-channel control console having far more efficient and flexible facilities than the model previously installed. Two condenser microphones were installed for music programme production and resulted in greatly improved acoustic balances.
134. The studio was also equipped with its own tape recording channel and variable speed tape playback machine, and this, combined with a bank of six standard play turntables and twin slow speed turn- tables, and the provision of echo on five of the six control channels makes the installation now very flexible and versatile.
135. Both English and Chinese continuity studios were equipped with new announcers' control desks, incorporating microphone control and twin turntables, with full monitoring facilities of programme output,
