from the Protestant and Roman Catholic clergy and the lay con- gregations.

92. Sunday morning services were broadcast from churches of four denominations, the Church of England, the Roman Catholic Church, the Union Church of Scotland and the English Methodist Church. The Salvation Army broadcast services from the studio.

93. The Armed Forces have their own evening services on Sundays, which are conducted from the studio by a Chaplain. On the Sunday before Christmas a combined Forces carol service was broadcast from the English Methodist Church.

OUTSIDE BROADCASTS

96. Apart from church services and sports commentaries, there has been a big increase in outside broadcasts this year. One was the 15th Exhibition of Hong Kong Products when 'live' description of the Exhibition was broadcast using three commentators at different parts of the site.

The 1958 Agricultural Show at Yuen Long, described in a half- hour programme, included an interview with an extremely voluble turkey. Other outside broadcasts included the Remembrance Day service from the Cenotaph, the Annual Reviews of the Hong Kong Defence Force and the Police; and on New Year's Eve there was a four point broadcast between studios, the Star Ferry, the Paramount Restaurant and the Ladies Recreation Club.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMES

97. Programmes for the three age groups-the very young, those from seven to twelve, and teen-agers-were continued with some altera- tions in their times and titles. For the Very Young' was broadcast at one-fortyfive instead of five-thirty, as it appeared that the old time of five-thirty conflicted with bath-time! The programme for the older group was re-christened Thursday Club'; 'Time for Teen-agers' became Junior Fare' and was broadcast at six-thirty instead of five- thirty p.m.
