Making use of the wide range of artistic talent in the Colony, the service broadcasts a large number of live programmes, including talks, documentaries, drama, and full-scale opera, besides making use of commercial record- ings of both Chinese and Western music.

There is Cantonese entertainment to suit all tastes: opera, drama and variety; both world and local news events covered by bulletins and magazine programmes; and special programmes for women, farmers, industrial workers, and children.
