111. The English service used the weekly 'Hit Parade' produced by V.O.A. and the Chinese service used an interview recorded by V.O.A. in New York with Miss Irene Yuen, well known pianist in the Colony who was studying music in America.
A Peking opera 'The Snow Elegant' performed by Miss JIN Su Chin in Taipei was recorded by V.O.A. and broadcast by Radio Hong Kong.
Radio Australia.
112. In addition to the welcome 'Australian Magazine' produced for Hong Kong, Radio Australia provided useful programmes in English and Kuoyu as background material to the Olympic Games. Reports on the Games were also relayed from Radio Australia transmission.
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
113. Among other programmes used from the output of the C.B.C. transcription service was 'Canada Calling', a feature programme in which various aspects of life in Canada were presented by interviews, reports and actuality.
KIRO-CBS, Seattle.
114. Station KIRO again co-operated with Radio Hong Kong in producing eyewitness accounts of the Hong Kong Display at the 5th International Trade Fair in Seattle.
Miscellaneous.
115. Occasional programmes were used from Radio Neder- land transcriptions and from UNESCO.

116. Engineering activity was maintained at the record level set in the first months of 1956. There was an increase in the number of outside broadcasts and recordings handled.
