54. With both English and Chinese services, audience participation shows have proved very popular and to accom- modate the increasingly large audiences it is likely that more productions will take place in outside auditoria than from the Concert Hall, which has limited audience accommodation.
55. The Asian Film Festival, which was held in Hong Kong from 12th - 16th June, was fully covered by the Chinese service with outside broadcasts from the opening and closing ceremonies in the Peninsula Hotel and a daily report on the entries as they were shown at the Queen's Theatre.

Annual events in the Colony remain annual broadcasting events, but with each year the added experience results in better broadcasts.
Many outside broadcasts are now done as twin operations with duplicate sets of equipment providing for simultaneous commentaries for both services. Each type of broadcast brings its own problems; how to place microphones so that listeners will hear the gun salute and the feu de joie on the Queen's Birthday Parade, and also that the transmitters won't go off the air through overloading; how to balance commentators and jets at the Air Display; how to make a fast moving broadcast from a static show such as the Agricultural Show and so on. Among the annual outside broadcasts are the Queen's Birthday Parade, Agricultural Show, Hong Kong Products Exhibition, R.A.F. Display, Defence Force Parade, Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph, cross-harbour swim and Dragon Boat Festival.
Sport.
57. Soccer remains the most popular sport in the Colony, and during the season commentaries were broadcast once or twice a week on league matches. Basketball also featured in the year's output, and other sports events were covered by sports commentator LAI Duen Po in his weekly sports round-up.
58. Four annual events were the Macau Grand Prix, the Dragon Boat Races, the cross-harbour swimming race and a new-comer, the Walkathon.
