In the Blacksmith's Shop students wil be taught the properties of various metals and alloys, and will carry out simple bends, welds, joints, etc., and will be given instruc- tion in annealing, hardening, tempering, case hardening, etc.

The Machine Shop training will consist of practical lathe workshaping, grinding, screw cutting, machine drilling, surfacing, tool making, spare parts, etc.

In the Motor Mechanics Shop the theory, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles will be taught, together with the making and fitting simple spare parts, testing, care and vulcanizing of tyres, charging and repair of accumulators, and maintenance and repair of electrical equipment.

A machine drawing course will be given extending over the first two years. This will include the use of drawing board and instruments, drawing to scale isometric pro- jections, sections, design of simple machine parts, reading working drawings, etc.

Mathematics required in elementary engineering work will be continued so that students can make any calculations required-take off quantities-find cubical con- tents, etc., and Geometry as far as necessary will also be taught.

Throughout the course strict attention is paid to absolute accuracy of working and calculation. Observance of correct workshop routine and time keeping, stores issuing and costing is insisted on.

A successful student after completing his three years' course should be capable of dismantling a car, making sketches of all simple parts to be renewed, choosing the correct material, making his own tools and machining, finishing and fitting the actual parts to be adjusted and make ready for the road, a student should also have a good working knowledge of the general organisation of a modern garage and its workings.

HOLIDAYS.

The school will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and all Government Public Holidays. It will be closed for short holidays at Xmas, Easter and Mid-Summer. The re-opening day of each term will be stated on the Students Report at the end of such term.

ATTENDANCE.

Regular and punctual attendance will be insisted upon. No student must be absent without permission from the Principal unless a letter is brought from the parent or guardian giving a satisfactory and adequate reason and permission is then given by Principal.

DISCIPLINE.

Strict discipline will be enforced at all times. A record will be kept of all minor offences and any student who has an unsatisfactory record is liable to suspension or in the case of continued misbehaviour or a serious offence, immediate expulsion. The decision of the Principal and the Inspector of Schools will be final.

REPORTS.

A report on each student will be prepared at the end of each term giving account of attendance, conduct, work and progress and forwarded to the parent or guardian.
