3. MISCELLANEOUS LISTS IN CONNEXION WITH THE CIVIL ESTABLISHMENT
(1) Hong Kong Precedence Table
1. The Governor or Officer Administering the Government.
2. (a) The Commander-in-Chief, Far East Station,
(b) The Commander-in-Chief, Far East Land Forces,
(c) The Commander-in-Chief, Far East Air Forces.
Their own relative rank and precedence being determined by the Queen's Regula- tions on the subject.
3. The Commander, British Forces, Hong Kong.
4. (a) The Flag Officer, Second in Command, Far East Station, if of the rank of
Vice-Admiral or Rear-Admiral,
(b) The Officer in Command of the Land Forces in the Colony, if of the rank of
Major-General.
Their own relative rank and precedence being determined by the Queen's Regula- tions on the subject.
5. The Chief Justice.
6. The Colonial Secretary.
7. (a) The Commodore-in-Charge, Hong Kong,
(b) The Senior Naval Officer of the Far East Station present, if of the rank of
Commodore,
(c) The Officer in Command of the Land Forces in the Colony, if of the rank of
Brigadier,
(d) The Officer in Command of the Air Forces in the Colony, if of the rank of
Air Commodore.

8. The Members of the Executive Council in their order.
9. (a) The Senior Naval Officer of the Far East Station present in the Colony, if of
the rank of Captain or Commander,
(b) The Officer in Command of the Land Forces in the Colony, if of the rank of
Colonel or Lieutenant-Colonel,
(c) The Officer in Command of the Air Forces in the Colony, if of the rank of
Group-Captain or Wing-Commander.

10. The Puisne Judges.
11. The Members of the Legislative Council.
12. The Commissioner of Police,
13. The Chairman, Public Services Commission.
14. Administrative Officers Staff Grade A and Heads of Departments of similar status.
NOTES.
1. The Bishop of Hong Kong and the Catholic Bishop of Hong Kong take courtesy
precedence between numbers 7 and 8.
2. Commissioners of Commonwealth countries, foreign Consuls-General de Carriere and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong take courtesy precedence, in that order, between numbers 8 and 9,
3. Knights take courtesy precedence immediately after number 10.
4. Foreign Consuls de Carriere take courtesy precedence immediately after Knights, their relative precedence being determined by the date of their recognition in their posts. United Kingdom and Commonwealth Trade Commissioners take courtesy precedence with but after foreign Consuls de Carriere, their relative precedence being determined by the date on which they assume their appointments.
5. Honorary Consuls take courtesy precedence between numbers 13 and 14.
6. Members of the Urban Council, Companions or Commanders of the Orders of Chivalry and Justices of the Peace, in that order, take courtesy precedence after number 14.
