SPECIAL WELFARE SECTION

Women and Children Emigrants

During 1956/57 the following emigrant women and girls and children under the age of 12 were interviewed before sailing to ensure as far as possible that they were not the victims of traffickers or other undesirables. Authority for this work was derived from the Secre- tary for Chinese Affairs under the Asiatic Emigration Ordinance of 1915.
