The PCPD organised 238 talks, seminars and workshops for the general public and various industry sectors to promote awareness and general understanding of personal data privacy. It also organised 71 professional workshops for data users, and conducted tailor-made seminars for property management practitioners. On the international front, the PCPD hosted the 37th Asia-Pacific Privacy Authorities Forum in June.
In June, the Personal Data (Privacy) (Amendment) Ordinance 2012 was passed by the Legislative Council, with most provisions commencing operation on 1 October 2012.
