Geology
Hong Kong is mainly
underlain by volcanic or granitic rock. Weathering and erosion of these rocks has resulted in many interesting rock formations and distinctive outcrops. Amah Rock (pictured) above Sha Tin is composed of granite and is so-called because it resembles a mother carrying a baby on her back.
