In 2002, the Government decided to restore Bethanie in
Pok Fu Lam - which was built by the Societe des Missions Etrangeres de Paris in 1875 as a rest home for Catholic missionaries and is now used by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as the Academy's Landmark Heritage Campus. The restoration project won an honourable
mention at the 2008
UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage
Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
