The Lunar New Year is the major festival of the year, and while the holiday is primarily a time for family gatherings there is still much to do.
Among the public events is a colourful parade (top) through the streets featuring floats, dancers, cultural troupes, musicians and bands. Bottom: lanterns of all shapes are a feature of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
