Top and above: Fish swarm around an artificial reef provided by a sunken vessel in Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park, north of Sai Kung. It is among 20 boat reefs and 216 tyre reefs established to help protect and propagate marine species. Hong Kong's waters contain

a wide diversity of fishes, crustaceans, molluscs and other marine life. Despite being close to the northern limit for hard corals, Hong Kong supports some 50 true coral species, while the green sea turtle nests on a remote sandy beach on Lamma Island.
