A Government Flying Service (GFS) helicopter plucks a 'survivor' from the sea during a joint exercise with the Hong Kong Marine Police. It is based at Chek Lap Kok and, besides supporting the Police Force, the GFS water-
bombs hill fires with underslung fire buckets, and helps in aerial mapping and survey. In 1998, it also transported 1 472 patients to hospital by helicopter and flew about 15 930 government officers and official visitors.
