This 200-year-old Chinese Banyan in Kowloon Park was named the 'King' of Hong Kong's urban trees
on November 10 in a contest organised by the Provisional Urban Council. It is 18 metres tall with a crown spread of 27 metres and was chosen by a panel of tree experts and environmentalists. A rare Rain Tree, at the junction of Shouson Hill and Wong Chuk Hang Roads, was voted Hong Kong's 'Most Popular Urban Tree' by a phone poll which attracted 40 347 people in a competition co-organised by The Conservancy
