A spectacular fiery 'waterfall' cascades from the Tsing Ma Bridge

at the opening of the Lantau Link on April 27. More than 1000 guests, including mayors and civic representatives from other cities with famous bridges. They enjoyed a colourful programme built around a theme of community participation that included a parade by 1 100 people representing Hong Kong's 18 districts, a fly-past by helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, a flotilla representing the marine community and a car procession over the link. It culminated in the 20-minute firework and laser display which was visible from most points overlooking the harbour.
