contribution to the team spirit of the departments

Traffic Congestion
Traffic congestion in certain areas are caused by the increased number of road users, road works and traffic accidents, thus affecting the services, and reducing passenger demand.
The serious congestion on the Tuen Mun Highway is expected to get worse, and a Working Group on traffic improvement for the Yuen Long, Tuen Mun, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing corridors, set up by the Government and the District Board for West New Territories, has recommended various short term traffic management measures which will be effective to reduce congestion pending the completion of the longer term road projects. As far as bus operations are concerned, the general traffic improvement measures, particularly the proposals to enhance driving discipline and to improve accident management, will no doubt help bus performance which has from time to time been adversely affected by serious accidents. Besides, bus-only gates and other measures will be introduced as necessary to facilitate bus operation in the Tuen Mun Road traffic
corridor.
司機為市民大眾服務。對於有關部門來說,員 工整體之士氣亦因而有所提高。
交通擠塞
在若干地區,由於駕車人士數目日多,又或因 道路工程及交通意外之故,以致時常出現交通 擠塞,影響本公司之服務,令乘客減少。
據估計屯門公路之擠塞情況將會日益嚴重。就 此,由政府及新界西區議會就改善元朗、屯 門、荃灣及葵青各區路面情況而成立之工作小 組會提出多項短期交通處理措施,可在較長期 之道路工程進行期間有效減輕路面擠塞情況。 就涉及巴士服務方面而言,一般之交通改善措 施,尤其有關提高司機駕駛紀律以及改善意外 處理等方面之建議,對於常因嚴重交通意外而 受影響之巴士服務自然大有幫助。此外,為協 助巴士在屯門公路上行駛暢順,現正實施之巴 士專用閘以及其他輔助巴士措施亦會在有需要 時進一步推廣。
