COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
KMB and its staff have supported many community activities and charity
functions during 1989, Our men's and ladies' teams pedalled non-stop for 24
hours in the 'Pedal '89'' pedal kart
marathon organized by the Hong Kong Round Table III and raised over
$55,000 for the disabled. About 200
KMB staff took part in the "Walks for
Millions' Shing Mun Tunnel Walk and
raised over $29,000 for the
Community Chest. In addition, more
than 200 staff participated in the Blood
Donation drive organized by the Hong Kong Red Cross.
To promote education on road
safety, KMB sponsored the 1989 Road Safety Campaign, providing souvenirs. We also set up a KMB Game Booth in Kwai Tsing and Shatin to teach children.

Last but not least, to promote safe
and courteous driving among our bus
captains, KMB organized the first'Bus
Captain of the Year" competition. This Campaign successfully reinforced the
attentive and courteous attitudes of our bus captains and outstanding staff were publicly recognized by the Company for their exemplary service.
參與社會事務
九巴及其員工在一九八九年內會支持多項 社會活動及慈善活動。本公司之男女子隊 會參加由香港圓桌會三號主辦之一九八九
年廿四小時慈善腳踏車籌款賽,經過
二十四小時不眠不休踏車,他們為傷殘 人士籌得超過五萬五千元。大約二百名 九巴員工參加城門隧道「百萬行」,為
公益金籌得超過二萬九千元。此外,還有
超過二百名員工會參加香港紅十字會
主辦之捐血運動。
為促進道路安全教育,九巴提供紀念品
贊助一九八九年道路安全運動。又於
葵青區及沙田設立九巴遊戲攤位,透過 遊戲及展覽方式教導兒童有關乘坐巴士時
之安全及禮讓事宜。
最後,為提高本公司車長間之安全及
禮讓駕駛水平,九巴籌辦第一屆「本年度
最佳車長」比賽。此項活動成功地加强
車長之殷勤及禮讓態度,優秀之員工獲
本公司公開表揚其模範性服務。
