KMB-MTR Integrated Fare System KMB and the MTR are now jointly developing a bus/rail integrated

ticketing system. An agreement with the MTR to install 100 Automatic Fare Collection machines on a number of

buses operating MTR feeder routes

was signed in August, 1988. The

development of these machines is well.

on schedule and the operation is

expected to begin in Autumn 1989. Both the MTR stored value tickets and

cash will be accepted for payment of

bus fare on those selected MTR feeder

routes where the buses are equipped

with the Automatic Fare Collection

machines as well as the usual coin

boxes. This provides the passengers with an extra choice of fare payment method.

BETTER BACK-UP FROM NEW DEPOTS

Lai Chi Kok Headquarters

The Lai Chi Kok Depot is being

developed into a modern headquarters

for the Company at an estimated

construction cost of $70 million. The

new building will have four floors of

carpark accommodating 90 cars and 13

floors of office accommodation with a

total floor area of 178,320 square feet.

Construction of the superstructure was started in May 1988 and the completion of the new building is scheduled to be in the latter half of 1989.

一百部自動收費機。安裝該等收費機之

計劃發展順利,預料可於一九八九年秋季

應用。屆時乘客可使用地鐵儲值車票或

現金繳付車費乘搭這些裝置有自動收費機

及錢箱的地鐵接駁巴士,此舉為乘客提供

另一種繳付車資的選擇,

新車廠提供更佳支援

荔枝角總寫字樓

荔枝角車廠現正發展為本公司之新型總

寫字樓,建築費用估計為七千萬元。新

大廈將有四層停車場,可停泊九十部

車輛,另有十三層寫字樓,樓面總面積爲

十七萬八千三百二十平方呎。上層建築

已於一九八八年五月動工,預計新大厦

將於一九八九年下半年完成。
