112. Arrangements were made with the China Light & Power Co. for the construction of a transformer house (the cost of which will be met by the Company) in front of Block H, to serve the estate. A nominal rental will be charged for the land occupied, as has been done elsewhere.

113. Negotiations were concluded with Messrs. Caltex (Asia) Ltd. for the leasing of the kerosene service store to be built on the estate: an annual rental of $2,750 will be paid, on the basis of a 20-year lease.

115. The temporary Estate Office, in Azalea House (Block S), was opened and put into operation on 15th February, 1960.

116. Tenders for collection of refuse, and cleansing of communal parts of the estate, were invited, on the same basis as for Sai Wan Estate, where the system is working satisfactorily. At the North Point Estate direct labour is employed. The cost of the two methods appears about equal, the main advantage of employing a contractor being that he has the responsibility of organizing and supervising the work.

117. The 38 shops on the estate, all in ground floor bays of Block S will not be let by tender, as was done at North Point. Instead rents will be fixed by the Authority, on the basis of a 3 years tenancy incorporating
