The following changes in membership occurred during the period under review: (1) On 1st July, 1955, Mr. C. G. M. Morrison was appointed to act as Social Welfare Officer during the absence from the Colony of Mr. K. Keen, who resumed duty on 5th March, 1956.
(2) On 8th November, 1955, Mr. A. St. G. Walton was appointed as Commissioner for
Resettlement, vice Mr. D. R. Holmes, M.B.E., M.C.

On 28th November, 1955, Mr. D. R. Holmes, M.B.E., M.C., was appointed as Chairman, Urban Council, in place of Mr. H. G. Richards, O.B.E., on the latter's retirement from Government service.
On 1st April, 1956, Mr. Chan Shu Woon, Dr. A. M. S. Bell, Mr. Li Yiu Bor, and, Dr. P. F. Woo became members, upon their election to the Urban Council.
(5) On 1st April, 1956, Mr. U Tat Chee, O.B.E., and Mr. C. Y. Kwan became members,
on their appointment to the Urban Council by the Governor,

On 9th July, 1956, Dr. A. H. R. Coombes, M.B.E., was appointed to act as A.D.H.S., during the absence of Dr. Teng, who resumed duty on 14th September, 1956.
(7) On 22nd January, 1957, Mr. J. Forbes, O.B.E., was appointed to act as Director of Public Works, and as Vice Chairman of the Authority, vice the Hon. T. L. Bowring, C.M.G., O.B.E., when the latter proceeded on leave prior to retirement.
