The Panghon or Pescadors.—consist of 12 inhabited islands besides several rocks, Thy éxtend from latitude 22° 13° to 225,48′ N. and „from 119° 16' to 119° 37′ I longitude. Their general appearance is fiat. The summits of many of the islands being nearly level, and no part of the group is 300 feet above the sca.
The two largest islands are situated near the centre of the Archipelago, forming an extensive and excellent harbor between them." The western island of the two (fisher's island), is five miles from north to south, and 34 miles front east to wost. On its SW. extreme is a light- house 225 feet above the sea.
To enter the harbor pass half a mile to the southward of the Lighthouse point, and then steer for Macao, which is situated on the north- be readily recognised by a citadel and line of side of an inlet on the Great Ponghou, and will
