[Nove,—An octovo edition of 2000 copies of the New Testament, was omitted in the about statistics,
It should also be stated that the estimated number of scholars, (20,000,) in attendance upon the schools in various parts of the islands, did not aim at enthe accuracy, as the report of the stations for a single year were not complete. Those however for May 1842, are nearly full; three stations only, having failed to report that year. Assuming the number of scholars report- ed by these three stations in 1841 and 1843, as the standard for 1943, and as will be seen by the above table, it gives 17,140 children and youth in schools for the year ending May 1842, which is probably about the number at the present time-a less number than the estimate in the statistics S N C1-Statical Table from the Friend, May 1, 1844.
