14. The rules and regulations most important to be know by a stranger, on visiting Honolulu, are the following, viz :

9. The oct revenue of the kingdom, in 1842, was about 85,089 dollars; in 1843. it was 50.000 dollars; and under wise laws to promote agricul ture and population, it is susceptible of great and rapid increase.ve
The public debt does not exceed 30,000 dollars; the interest upon the whole, averages about 12 per cent, and is regularly paid. Ten per cent of the rents for lands is appropriated for the redemption of the debt. The whole public expenditure & under 15,000; but some of the salaries require to be much increased; and the government desires to
