Nova Scotia, Printing was first introduced into Nova Scotia in 1751, a period of twenty-four years before it was commenced at Canada, and thirty three years before it foun, its way into Now Brunswick. The Halifax Gazelle appeared in 1751, but not brought out at regular intervals until 1760. The history of this paper, is interest ing (but we must refer to Mr. Simonds), of its pro- prieters Jahn Bushell and Authony Henry

A second paper was brought out in 1706. We find there papera at Halifax in 1210 ; six in 1830; eleven in 1838.

The rapid communication between Halifax and England by means of the Cunard man strainers has given quite an iripetus to newspapers, and called into being several now journals. This must act both ways; no doubt on increased number of English newspapers go there,
