MANCHESTER,

679 bales. 132

The markets throughout the past month have been unusually steady for the season, and have closed buoyant with lighter stooks.

Goons.----There has been a steady demand for shirt- ings of all kinds with a tendency upwards in prices, 40 inch 72-reeds, which at the date of our last wore do- pressed, and which then fetched 9. 12. to 98. 64, are to-day held at Rs. 9d. to 9s. 101d. Maddapollains and Jacoonets meet a ready sale. Domestics are loss in re quest. 78. 8d. printing cloths are scarce, and held at ax advance of lad. to 3d, per piece.

Twisr. The principal demand for twist has been for India, and Nos. 50 and 70 of cheap qualities aro very scarce, and fetch a a cogniderable advance on Inty prices. No. 50, then Ofd, as to-day 10fd; 60, then 104d, is now 1244,, and 70, then 124d, has reached 15d.; these numbers were, however, much depressed at the period noted. The better class of yarns is at pre sont rélatively much cheaper than the inferion, owing to the absence of the continental demand, No. 40, for instance, at D‡d., is decidedly cheaper and more plont ful than the same number at Bid.

COTTON--The market rates nearly the same as month ago; prices receded d., but have since fully ro- covered
