THE WHOLE of the GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATIONS promulgated at various periods, from the time of the hoisting of the British Flag on the Island of Hong- Kong, until the 31st December, 1843. With two In- dexes, the one alphabetical, and the other indicating the general nature of the Notifications.

The Notices &c., issued from the various Govern? ment Offices will be included in the above.

The Number of Copies printed will be limited to that of the Subscribers, and the Subscribers' list will be clos- ed on the 25th December, 1843;-fifty copies will however be reserved in order to meet orders from the Northern Ports until the 1st March next, when should any remain, they will be available for purchasers.

The Overland Mail arrived per Audax from Calcutta on the 23rd inst. Dates reach to the 6th September. Parliament has been prorogued; the Queen's speech reiterates the determination to maintain the Union with Iread and preserve tranquillity in the Empire. Her Majesty and Prince Albert were paying a visit to the King of the French, who it is said has promised to return the compliment early in the spring-The agitation in Ireland continues but the rent does not pour in so freely as before. In Wales affairs continue much the same; Mr. Hall the Magistrate has been sent to investigate the cause of the outbreak. Trade has improved considerably in every branch. The Opium Compensation money has been voted by Parliament. An Act has been passed enabling the Governor and Council of Hongkong to make laws for the government of the Colony.

The article on the dangers of the China Seas has occupied the whole of our editorial space, and we have only room to wish our readers the com- pliments of the season. Our next issue will be on Tuesday morning next.
