INQUEST BEFORE Mr“ FARNCOMB. CORER On Thursday 17th August an Inquest was held on the body of a Chinaman, that was found dead on the Queen's-road.
Mr Christopher was sworn and deposed. I went in consequence of information to a spot on the Queen's road, near to the premises of Mr. Townsend and there found deceased lying beside a boat. I spoke to him, and from what I could understand, he wanted some food. He seemed much exhausted, was breathing heavily, and his stomach `heaving considerably. My coolies gave- him some rice. I did not see him again until this mor sing, he was then dead. From what I saw of him, I think
chit death was caused from want of nourishment.
VERDICT; died from want of common necessaries of life.
THE WEATHER.

At seven in the evening, a hurricane of wind and rain came on from 8SW, which lasted nearly three hours; heavy rain during the whole night. Sunday-cold morning, partial showers during the day, evening dry and clear, during the night, heavy rains. Monday, partial showers sunshine, and slight breezes during the day evening very fine.
