Kr-YING and TSE-CHIN have sent up a memorial relating to the battle of Chin- keang-foo. It appears that the barbarian ships precipitately entered the great Yang- tze-keang, and our troops opening their great guns succeeded in killing several tens of the rebellious barbarians, while a great number of them fell into the water. The said barbarians had together a large number of ships and they dise nbarked on the northwest banks, At this crisis General Tse-chin and colleagues led forth aur troops and engaged the enemy as they were land- ing. Paou-tsew-hung with his own hand fired off ten great gans, and slow one bar- barian Chief clad in red garments. Both officers and men with united purpose exerted themselves with cannon and musketry, swords and spears, and giving desperate battle on the right hand and on the left wounded and slew upwards of three hundred of the barbarians. While the said rebels with manuel effort were dragging their great guns up the banks our imperial troop with cou- rageous bravery advanced upon them wound- ing and slaying a large number of them.
