GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
HE Contract hitherto in force for the publication of GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATIONS having ceased on the 21st instant Notice is hereby given, that the HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, this day established, will be hereafter the only Official Organ of Proclamations, Notifications, and all Public Papers of this Government.

His Excellency Her Majesty's Plenipotentiary and Chief Superintendent of British Trade in China is pleased to notify that Walter Henry Medhurst, Esquire, has been appointed by Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Her Majesty's Consul at Foochowfoo.

NOTIFICATION.

His Excellency Her Majesty's Plenipotentiary and Chief Superintendent of British Trade in China is pleased to notify that William Woodgate, Esquire, will, for the present and until further notice, Officiate as Secretary and Registrar to Her Majesty's Plenipotentiary and the Superintendency of British Trade in China; and that Martin Crofton Morrison, Esquire, will, for the present and until further notice Officiate as Chinese Secretary to Her Majesty's Plenipotentiary.
