AN ORDINANCE FOR REDUCING THE NUMBER OF JURYMEN FROM EIGHTEEN TO TEN.
[31st October, 1854.] WHEREAS in consequence of the more frequent holding of Criminal Sessions in future, it will be unnecessary to summon more than a panel of Ten Jurymen :
I. Be it therefore enacted and ordained by the Honorable the Lieutenant-Governor administering the Government of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, that Sections VI and VII of Ordinance No. 4 of 1851 be amended by 10 Jurymen to substituting the word Ten for the word Eighteen so often as the same occurs therein form Panel.
respectively, in order to diminish the said panel by eight names.

August, the 29th Day of September, the 29th Day of October, the 29th Day of November, and the 29th Day of December, in every year, and be continued by adjournment, as the case may require, until the whole of the Criminal business is disposed of:-Provided, if any or either of the hereinbefore mentioned days occur on a Sunday, then that the Criminal Sessions be holden on the day following. Provided further, that, if the Chief Justice find it so expedient, Criminal Sessions shall not be holden two months in every year, such two months not being consecutive. II. That Schedule 7 attached to the Regula Generalis above mentioned be amended according to the Form hereunto annexed.
