VI. That it shall be lawful for the said Colonial Secretary to withdraw, by an Order in writing, any se granted under this Ordinance and subject thereto; such License shall be in force for Twelve Months o longer, but shall be renewable by the said Colonial Secretary at his discretion on the same or any Terms and Conditions; and such License shall also provide for the Transit of Gunpowder or Gun Cotton ene place to another within this Colony in such manner and in such quantity as shall be deemed ble for the safety of the Inhabitants of this Colony, and every person offending against such provisions be liable to a Fine not exceeding Fifty Dollars.

VII. That if Information be given on Oath or Affirmation to any Magistrate that there is reasonable for suspecting that any Gunpowder or Gun Cotton is, contrary to the provisions of this Ordinance, or possessed by any person, such Magistrate may issue his Warrant directing any Police Officer to h either by day or by night any House, Shop, Dwelling, Warehouse, Ship, or Boat, or any other place r on land or water, in which he has reasonable ground to suspect any Gunpowder or Gun Cotton to ..pt or stored contrary to the Provisions of this Ordinance; and any Vehicle of Land or Water Carriage in any Gunpowder or Gun Cotton may be suspected to be carried, or any Person suspected of carry- the same contrary to License or the Provisions of this Ordinance, and all Gunpowder or Gun Cotton d on such search, shall, together with the Articles in which it may be stored, be immediately seized and in sate custody by the Police until it shall be adjudged whether the same shall be forfeited. VIII. That all Fines and Penalties to be imposed under this Ordinance shall be imposed and recovered a Summary manner before the Chief or Assistant Magistrate of Police according to the Provisions of inance No. 10 of 1844.

IX. That nothing in this Ordinance contained shall be held to extend to Government Naval or tary Stores, or to Gunpowder stored on board of Ships which shall not have arrived in the Harbours of Colony more than Fourteen Days; and that all Licenses issuable hereunder shall be grantable upon a or Charge to be paid into the Office of the Colonial Treasurer.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, THAT

IE FLAG-STAFF, with all its FITTINGS, as it now stands at the late GOVERNMENT HOUSE ring Gardens, will be sold by PUBLIC AUCTION, Lot, on THURSDAY, the 11th instant, at n o'clock in the Forenoon, on the Premises.
