Whereas it has been represented by the Imp 916 Authorities at Shanghae to His Excellency the Gove 916 and Commander-in-Chief, that Chinese Subjects, not ha 12 8 6 lawful business in that port or neighbourhood, are c 916 veyed thither in considerable numbers by Vessels f 916 this Colony, for the purpose of creating disturbances 916 troubling the public peace: It is hereby recommended t 916 parties who shall convey Chinamen to any Northern P 9 16 to exercise due caution, and institute due enquiry into 9character and, objects of the individuals who apply Passages, so that no umbrage may be given to the Chir Assistant Surveyor, for the Surveyor General. Authorities, and no risk incurred by the Vessels taking
board such Chinamen as Passengers.
