GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
[APRIL 11, 1857.
In consequence of information received from the Emigration Officer, it is hereby notified, that the heads and staves of casks of Chinese manufacture, intended to convey Water in Emigrant Vessels, must be at least One and a-Half Inch thick, such casks not to hold more than 200 gallons, and in every instance be well charred-casks which have contained Provisions being inadmissable as Water Casks.

LET- TERS received from 8 to 10 o'clock A.M., for a late fee of 6d.; and from 10 o'clock A.M., to 12 o'clock (noon,) for a late fee of Is.

A Written Declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages for the Overland Route is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be delivered by the Shipper to the Company's Agents with the Bills of Lading or with Parcels, and the Company do not hold themselves responsible for any Detention or Prejudice which may happen from incorrectness on such declaration.
