No. 796.-It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 10th December, 1907, for extending Ngau Chi Wan Road to the junction of Customs Pass and Chin Lan Shu Roads.

No works will be permitted on Sundays.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

TEMPORARY LIGHT AT THE ENTRANCE TO SHIMABARA HARBOUR.

NOTICE is hereby given that the light from Shimabara Lighthouse at the entrance to Shimabara Harbour, Shimabara Gulf, province of Hizen, will be withdrawn on the 13th inst. (November) for the rebuilding of the lighthouse.

On and after the same day the following temporary light will be shown during the work:-

Position

at the distance of 50 feet, Westward of the former lighthouse.

Height of light :-35 feet above the water.

Character of light-fixed white light.

Illuminated arc :--the whole horizon,

Distance visible :-6 nautical miles in clear weather.
