GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

VOL. IV. No. 210.

The Contract for publishing this Gazette, entered into on the 24th September, 1853, was terminated on the 30th ultimo ; and notice is hereby given that a NEW SERIES of this Gazette will be published hereafter, to commence from the 7th instant, under a New Contract, and that

"THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE"

will, as before, be the only Official Organ for PROCLAMATIONS, NOTIFICATIONS, and PUBLIC PAPERS, of this Government.

PROCLAMATION.

W. CAINE.

By His Excellency Lieutenant-Colonel WILLIAM CAINE, Acting Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same:

Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through The Right Honourable SIR EDWARD BULWER LYTTON, Baronet, M.P., Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, spproving of and confirming the following Ordinances, namely

Ordinance No. 14 of 1858, entitled-

“An Ordinance to authorize the application of a Sum not exceeding Twenty-five Thousand Pounds to defray the

Supplementary Contingent Charges of the Year 1858;

Ordinance No. 15 of 1858, entitled-

"An Ordinance to apply a Sum not exceeding Seventy-six Thousand Pounds to the Public Service of the Year 1859;"

Ordinance No. 1 of 1859, entitled-

“An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 8 of 1858;”

Ordinance No. 2 of 1859, entitled-

“ An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 10 of 1858:

Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Four Ordinances liave been so approved and confirmed As aforesaid.
