in attendance, was sworn in as a Provisional Member of the Legislative Council.

By His Excellency SIR HERCULES GEORGE ROBERT ROBINSON, Knight, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the ony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty the QUEEN, conveyed through His Grace The Duke of reastle, Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the wing Ordinance, namely
'No. 3 of 1859,” entitled —
“An Ordinance to amend Ordinances No. 3 and No. 12 of 1858:”-
Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinance has been so approved and confirmed as aforesaid.
