Under these circumstances, and in the absence of any means available in this country of farnishing Coloured Scamen with official cort. Beates of birth, my Lords think, that all Shipping Masters before whom Coloured Reuna are engaged for voyages to the Southern Ports: the United States should warn such Seamen, and the Masters who engage them, of the inconvenience and risk to which they may be through the operation of the laws above mentioned, and should point out to them, in ease the Masters determine to carry Free Colour.. Sommen to stock ports, that they should be prepared with full evidence of their place of birth and their nationality.

Notice having been given, that the present Contract for Pduring the Gorcrument Guzette, and executing th.. general Printing required by this Government, will expire on the Ales of December nex!, it is hereby intimated for neral information that Tonders for Priating the spid Guette, and executing such other Printing Worb, will be received at this Oleo up to 4 P.M. on the 30th November of the current year,

The charge for Chinese Characters, and for intricate Tabular work, must also be specifically stated.
The Tenders for Job Printing must be separate, but framed similarly in their details.
Sixty Copies of each issue of the Gazette will be required for the Government, and the Printer will be expectel to keep a suficient number on hand.for the supply of the Public.
Paper for the Gazette must be found by the Contractor; for the Job Printing it will be furnished by the Government.
Any further information that may be required will be supplied at the office of the Auditor General.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION,

It is hereby notified, that under the terms of Section 3 of Ordinance No. 11 of 1844, and Section 1 of Ordinance No. 7 671858, Wednesday, the 9th Day of November next, is fixed for a Special Sessions of Justices of the Peace, to be held on that day, at the Office of the Chief Magistrate of Police, at Eleven o'Clock in the Forenoon, for the pur- pose of considering Applications for Licenses for the sale of Spirituous and Fermented Liquors, during the year commencing the 1st December next.
Applications for such Licenses inust be lodged at the Chief Magistrate's Office, at least Ten Days before the Sessions, in the Form prescribed by the above quoted Section of the first mentioned Ordinance; and no application will after that period he received for submission to the Sessions.
Printed forms of Applications may be obtained, by intending Applicants, at the Chief Magistrate's Office, on Week Rays between the Hours of 10 A M. and 4 P.M.

A Premium of Oue Thousand Dollars will be given by the Government for the best and most practicable Schome for providing the City of Victoria with a constant and suficient supply of Pure Water. The Report must be accom- panied with Specifications, Plans, and Working Drawings, and a detailed. Estimate of the whole service. It is not contemplated to expend a larger sum than £25,000, and it is hoped that the work may be efficiently executed for a much sinaller outlay.
The Reports must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and reach his Office by noon of the 1st February, 1860, when they will be submitted to the decision of a Committee of non-competitors appointed for the purpose by Ilis Ex- cellency The Governor.
