By His Excellency SIR HERCULES GEORGE ROBERT ROBINSON, Knight, Governor and Commander- in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through The Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the following Ordinances; namely:-
No. 11 of 1860, entitled-
“An Ordinance to constitute a Marine Court of Inquiry in Hong- kong ;"
No. 13 of 1860, entitled-“ An Ordinance for the Establishment of a Civil List" :-- Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinances have been so approved and con- firmed, as aforesaid.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor, with the Advice of the Executive Council, has fixed the Police Rate for the Year 1861 at Seven per Cent for Houses in the City of Victoria, and Five per Cent for Houses in the Villages of this Island.
In addition tc which on Houses in Victoria a Lighting Rate of One-and-a-half per Cent will be levied, in accordance with the terms of Ordinance No. 11 of 1856.
