It is hereby notified for general information that by virtue of a Warrant of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, dated the 10th of September last, the rate of postage upon Letters conveyed by Packet between Hongkong and Ĝi- braltar, on and after the 1st December next, will be One Shilling the half-ounce Letter, instead of One Shilling and Ten Pence as heretofore.

With reference to Government Notification No. 87 of 21st August, 1856, it is hereby inti- mated that it is impossible to guarantee for the future the issue of Passports to Passengers for Europe via France on the day of the departure of the Homeward Mail.
Intending Applicants are therefore particularly requested to make their Application at this Office on the day previous to such Departure, or earlier if possible.
