GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Whereas by the terins of the Crown Lease the unlicensed establishment of Forges and Blacksmiths' Shops is strictly forbidden, and whereas many such are now reported, Notice is hereby given that such Forges and Shops shall cease working from the 10th Instant, and shall not be allowed to resume work, unless possessed of a License under the hand of the Surveyor General, whose duty it shall be to see that all due precautions against Fire are taken on the Premises, and that no inconvenience is caused to the neighbourhood or the Public by the establishment of any such Forge or Shop.

Future application for the establishment of such Shops must state the particulars of construction, locality, and all other necessary details.

HARBOUR MASTER'S OFFICE, 3rd October, 1800. Consignees and Masters of Ships are hereby informed that after the 15th Proximo, the Boundary North of which Vessels shall not anchor is as follows:---

Kellett's Island bearing E.S.E.

All Ships to be properly moored with 35 Fathoms chain (East and West.)

The passage between North Boundary of Man-of-war anchorage and the Kow-loong Peninsula to, be kept clear. The Mail Steamers to moor near the Fort William.

The Harbour Master reserves to himself the right to order Ships likely to remain here for any great length of time to moor as near the Northern Harbour Boundary as the depth of water will allow.
