NOTICE.
HARBOUR MASTER'S Office, VICTORIA, HONGKONG,

Notice to Consignees, Masters and others in charge of Merchant Vessels..
1. On or before the 1st June proximo all ships with the following exceptions shall be moved over to the North Side of the Harbour, mooring them properly with 45 Fathoms on each chain, the anchors lying in an E.N.E. and W.S.W. direction from each other.
2. The Southern line of this anchorage shall be, the North Extremity of Hongkong just shut in with the South Extremity of the Kowloon Peninsula bearing E. S.; the Top Gallant Masts and Yards are to be on deck and flying Jib-boom in, a spare anchor is to hang a cock bill ready for letting go, and the hawse is invariably to be kept clear.
3. Hulks or receiving ships (not having Top Masts pointed) may for convenience lie on the South Sbore.
4. Ships discharging cargo may also by permission anchor on the South Shore.
5. The Peninsular and Oriental Co.'s Hulk Fort William is for the convenience of the Public Service allowed to remain where she is the Mail Steamers anchoring near hier but not to Southward.
Vessels under Articles 3 and 4 and 5 must perfectly understand that although they have permission to remain there, it is entirely at their own risk.

TOTICE is hereby given to the Next of Kin and all other Persons, to produce any Wills or Codicils of the above Party that may be in their possession before the Supreme Court on Saturday the 2d Day of June A.D. 1860, or if one that the Next of Kin do accept or refuse LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION, failing which LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION will be granted to the Registrar of the said Court or such other P'erson as the Court may think fit.

Contents and Value of Packages are required.
** A written declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages for the Overland Route is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be delivered by the Shippers to the Com- pany's Agents with the Bill of Lading, or with Parcels and the Company do not hold them- selves responsible for any Detention or Preju- dice which may happen from incorrectness on such declaration. Shippers of Cargo on the Company's Black Bills of Lading are particu- larly requested to note the Terms and Conditions of these Bills of Lading, with reference to the Transhipment and forwarding of Cargo, with a view to the adequateness of their Insurance Policies in respect of the same.

POST OFFICE NOTIFICATION. THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT having reduced the transit charge upon Letters addressed to, or sent by, Officers, Soldiers, and Seamen of the British Expeditionary Forces in China, when sent via Marseilles to the same amount that is levied in France upon Letters to, or sent by, French Soldiers and Seamen serving in China, which is 2d. for a Letter not exceeding a quarter of an ounce in weight, and 4d. for a Letter above a quarter and not exceeding half an ounce, the following reduced British and Foreign postage. will, during the continuance of hostilities, be charged upon such Letters, which are sent via Marseilles, víz. :—

Such Letters will however only be sent through France when specially addressed via Marseilles in Red Ink on the left hand upper corner, and signed by the Officer having command of the Vessel, or of the Regiment, Corps, or Detach- ment to which any person privileged under this regulation belongs.
The privilege enjoyed by Soldiers and Seamen of sending their Letters by British Packet by way of Southampton for a Postage of One Penny will not be disturbed.
