PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency SIR HERCULES GEORGE ROBERT ROBINSON, Knight, Governor and Commander- in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through His Grace The DUKE OF NEWCASTLE, Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the following Ordinances, namely:-
No. 6 of 1859, entitled-"An Ordinance for providing Hospital accommodation on board Chi- nese Passenger Ships, and for the Medical Inspection of the Passengers and Crews about to proceed to Sea in such Ships;"
No. 7 of 1859, entitled—“ An Ordinance to amend the Provisions of Ordinance No. 8 of
1858, respecting the Deportation of Mendicants:"-
Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinances have been so approved and confirmed, as aforesaid.

It is found necessary again to call the attention of Owners, Agents, and Masters of Ships to Govern- ment Notifications No. 104 of 12th November, 1859, and No. 25 of 28th February last, and to repeat, that all Transfers, Endorsements, and other Transactions connected with the Registry of Ships, under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1854, are now effected at the Harbor Master's Office, in place of the Colonial Secretary's Office, as previously to the date first above-named.
