The following Regulations as to Chinese Emigration are published for general information by direction of His Excellency The Governor.

1. The Master or Consignee of every Ship intending to carry Emigrants shall send in a Letter to the Emigration Officer, enclosing Certificate of the Ship's Survey, and stating the Number of Pas- sengers, Male and Female, she can legally carry; the Name of Passage Broker, and whither Bound.

2. He shall report to the Emigration Officer when all the Provisions are on board, and the Ship ready for inspection.

3. The Bond shall be signed at the Emigration Office, and the following Papers sent in at the same time:~

Passengers' Lists in Duplicate, with Summary.

List of Provisions and Medicines.

Certificate of Qualification of Surgeon; if a Chinese, a Declaration also that an European

cannot be procured.

Copy of Contract Ticket.

4 The above Conditions will be strictly required, and without them no Contract Ticket will be signed by the Emigration Officer.

THEREAS an action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above- named THOMAS BERNARD CAHILL against the above-named HENRY WILLIAM HYATT to recover the Sum of Eight hundred Dollars and Interest under a Promissory Note made by the said HENRY WILLIAM HYATT dated the Twenty-third Day of May One thousand Eight hundred and Fifty-nine, and it being alleged that the said HENRY WILLIAM HYATT does not reside within this Island or its Dependencies a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued returnable on the Ninth Day of May, 1860, wherein EDWARD PARKER, of the "Albion Hotel," Queen's Road, is garnishee. Notice is hereby given thereof, and that if at any time before final judgment in this action the said HENRY WILLIAM HYATT or any Person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordi- nance of this Island, intituled "An Ordinance to provide for and regulate Process in Actions at Law against Persons absent from the Colony," the said Attachment may be dissolved.
